Furthermore, while the bottom half is easy to remove, it has a hard and rough plastic edge that digs uncomfortably into my wrists, so I don't use that half. This means I have no way of cleaning my computer or the case. However, I have not been able to remove the top half of the case (the part covering the screen side of the Macbook) because it fits so tightly.
I like the glossy finish and it really is clear enough that it's not immediately obvious that you have a hard plastic case over your laptop.

This case is great looking and fits perfectly onto a Macbook Pro 15", with appropriate cutouts for the power cord, USB cables, etc. :) If you're looking for a cool way to keep your computer from getting scratched, this is definitely the way to go. And it doesn't get any toastier on the bottom than usual. The screen opens just as much as it did without the cover. The case fits like a glove, even though I have a few dents in the side of my computer from dropping it. Honestly, I think they must have revamped the product since some of the other reviewers got it, because I had absolutely no trouble with it at all. I'd read that the screen didn't open all the way anymore once the case was on, and all this stuff about it overheating.well, it's all bull. I looked up reviews before I bought this product, and was skeptical because of what I read, but decided to go with it anyway. I recommend this product and am confident it will hold up to a college lifestyle. I will be taking the laptop with me around campus in my backpack and like the fact that it will be protected from scratches. It fits perfectly on my MacBook Pro and definitely improves the overall durability of the computer. I think the newer version is much sleeker than its predecessor and I am very happy with this case. This item is actually the second version, thus the V2 in the product name. The first thing I would like to point out is that the product image provided by Amazon is the older version of the Speck MacBook Pro Black case.
